UPDATE – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday afternoon has cancelled the tsunami alert issued after a powerful earthquake hit Chile Saturday. Officials said the evacuations were orderly, with authorities saying that the waves were not expected to be higher than 1 meter.
The recent 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile has cause several tsunami warning to neighbouring countries and it is expected that a tsunami will hit the coast of Philippines at around 1-2.:30 p.m. on Sunday.
