A magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck near India’s Nicobar Islands, with the epicenter about 95 miles (150 kilometers) west of Mohean and 1,730 miles southeast of New Delhi.
The quake struck about 1am in the morning local time and another 5.4 magnitude quake struck near the Nicobar Islands at 6:44 a.m. Malaysian time.
The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a tsunami warning as a result of the 7.5 magnitude quake but later on cancelled citing sea level readings.

Richard Butler and his girlfriend Bethany Lott was on a hiking trip in Western North Carolina Friday when she was struck and killed by lightning.
“Everything went black. I was spun 180 degrees, thrown several feet back. My legs turned to jelly. My shoes were smoking and the bottom of my feet felt like they were on fire,” Richard Butler said.
He didn’t know, but her girlfriend who was hiking a few feet infront of him was the one who to the direct hit and died instantaneously.
