Second time is the charm for Manny Pacquiao because he is now the official Congressman in Sarangani. He was proclaimed by the provincial board of canvassers as the new Congressman of Sarangani late Thursday night. He won against his rival, Roy Chiongbian, with 120,052 votes leading with over 50,000 votes.
In his next fight he will now be titled as the seven division champion, No.1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world and the “Fighting Congressman of the Philippines”.

The Automated Elections has finally come to pass. Today was a long day for the whole nation. Many filed into long lines just to get their ballots counted. Problems plagued the entire day. From long hours of wait, to machine malfunctions, to poll-related violence and so forth, the day is both interesting and frustrating. Comelec has barred Kilusang Bagong Lipunan (KBL) standard-bearer Vetellano Acosta from seeking presidency and has officially declared him a nuisance candidate, a poll body’s spokesman said.
“He’s now disqualified. He has refrained from campaigning and refused to provide information about himself, and ignored proceedings of the commission,” Comelec spokesman James Jimenez told Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
“He doesn’t even have a bio-data. This led the committee to believe he is in fact a nuisance candidate,” he added.
