An iPhone is just an iPhone if you will use it as an iPhone. So is the iPod Touch. I know a lot of people under utilizing their gadgets. It’s not a bad thing, really. They are just missing out a lot by doing so.

In those boring times like waiting-for-your-flight moments, iPhone/ iPod Touch games comes in very handy. You can play it for hours or until your battery dies out on you, whichever comes first.

I find my iPhone very useful because I can use it as my on-the-go office. Other than that fact, my iPhone has tons of handy applications. Think of it as a hand held tool box.

Here are my Top 10 Applications so far:

1. Clock Radio

This app here serves as my alarm clock. Pretty easy to use. Switch on your WiFi, choose your online radio station and set the alarm. When the alarm goes off, music from your chosen online radio station will play rather than the usual irritating alarm clock sound. You can also use this as an online radio.

2. Radio Philippines

Another online radio BUT, this contains the radio stations locally (Philippines). Acts as good as live with a bit of delay but, it’s better than none. Not all stations in that program are working though.

3. TVU Player

Live streaming of TV channels straight to your iPhone! You can use your 3g or WiFi to watch. Also, this is as good as watching live with just a little bit of delay. Most, if not all, channels are working. Tried testing several channels like Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, CCTV9, DW-TV, Net25 and others.

4. Logmein

Very useful, at least for me. Once you have installed it both on your PC and iPhone, you can access your PC anywhere as long as both your iPhone and PC has internet connection. You can click on your windows using the iPhone and typing is also possible. You can even attach the files or upload the files you forgot at home to the internet for downloading! I did try play a movie on my PC using my iPhone but it didn’t show. Webcam videos can stream though.

5. MotionX GPS

Leaving town? Going out of the country? This is one iPhone app you must have! Basically, you can pre-download the map of the city/country where you plan to go so when you’re already there, you won’t need an internet connection to use the application. You’ll just be using your iPhone’s GPS satellite receiver and you’re good to go. No pun intended.

6. NYTimes/ SabiNila

I find news entertaining. In fact, it became my habit ever since time immemorial. With these applications, you can be updated with the current news. NYTimes is for international / world news. SabiNila is an application for local (Philippine) news. SabiNila is like an RSS feed application gathering news from several news media agencies like GMA, ABS-CBN and the likes.

7. Any Mark

Need to upload an image you just took 5 seconds ago? Afraid that somebody else might get the credit out of it? Then, you need this! Well, it’s just a photo watermarking software. It does the job well. Sorry for the anti-climactic effect.

8. Autostitch

Another useful iPhone photography tool. Using your built-in camera application, take several shots. Use this software and load all the images you just took. This software will auto stitch all the photos into one huge panoramic photo.

9. MyWi

Since I have unlimited mobile broadband internet, this application is pretty useful too. With this, I can use my iPhone as a WiFi router. Everyone around me can access the internet by connecting to my phone. You can also input a password so not all can leech your mobile WiFi connection. You can also tether without downloading any application. The built-in application doesn’t support sharing through WiFi though. Only USB and Bluetooth (read this)

10. Holy Bible

Not like this is better than the real thing, of course, the Physical Holy Bible is better than this. This is just for emergency situations when you need an outright inspiration to satisfy your spiritual hunger. It has multiple versions in it like the KJV and the others.
